1. Self-Awareness

Self- awareness is one of the primary characteristics that answer to high level of emotional intelligence. High EQ persons know who they are, what they can or cannot do, and how they feel and how it shows on their actions. Not only do they know how they feel but also they are capable of expressing why they feel as such. The ability to consider what they feel about something obviously or internally helps them make wiser decisions than acting impulsively that can cause harm to others.

2. Self-Regulation

People with high EQ have the capacity of controlling their feelings to healthy levels. This means they can restrain some ideas from leading to an action, remain cool in worry and be able to calculate instead of reacting emotionally. Instead of getting easily worked up or easily frustrated they can stop and think before they do or say something. Self-regulation allows one to implement control over their feelings such as anger or frustration interfering with the general decision-making process.

3. Empathy

Sympathy is the capacity to feel what others are feeling and this is a very good aspect of emotional quotient. High EQ self-high achievers can recognize signals, moods in a conversation, and both love and concern for other people. They are good listeners and can empathize with others because they know how to step into someone else's shoes. Empathy enhances people's bonding, achieving better interactions in personal as well as corporate lives.

4. Strong Social Skills

Emotional intelligence is widely believed to go hand in hand with good social skills. As such, they are skilled in both inter and intrapersonal communication, and ability to relate well with people, establish and sustain good relations. In individual or group dialogues they are able to articulate themselves just as well as understand others. It is easy for them to understand cues and signals in social relations, compromise and make and coordinate others produce synergy in their relationships anywhere.

5. Motivation

Analysing the relationships between characteristics of high E-Q and motivation, it can be stated that employees with high E-Q are self-motivated. They are purposeful people, that is, they have internal motivation, which means that they will work effectively even in unfavorable conditions. Unlike others who are motivated by some external factors, they look for the internal factors that motivate them in their job and in their goals. This self-motivation is manifest in ways which include endurance and the capability to stay cheerful when the going gets tough for the interpersonal and intrapersonal communication

6. Adaptability

ESQ means emotional social quotient where people with high ESQ are very flexible in any change. They do not get quickly stressed by new situations or when there is MAT or ambiguity. They accept change as something normal, positive and they are ready to be influenced – accepting new ideas and ways of working. It makes them sustainable in their behaviors to look for opportunities in other perspectives since they can handle stress and uncertainty.

7. Conflict Resolution Skills

One show that emotionally intelligent people are very good in handling disputes and conflict situations. Instead of aggravating incidences they can cool down tempers and act in a non-judgmental manner. They encourage all the stakeholders and listen to all the agenda of the case, then work towards achieving satisfactory of all the clients involved. The astute manner that they are able to manage conflict increases overall relationship quality and efficient collaboration.

8. Optimism

Emotional intelligence or their ability to regulate their emotions makes a person to always have a good attitude irrespective of the situation. They accept failure and all the negative occurrences that characterize life situation as something they cannot use to dictate how they should feel. They stress on the positive, correct mistakes and maintain the outlook ahead looking approach. It is due to such optimism balancing one's own and positively influencing others to keep strong and encourage their colleagues too.

9. Awareness of Others' Emotions

High EQ people are most sensitive to what other people's feelings are. They can easily notice other's emotions chart​, their postures, their manner of speaking and even their look if these are not spoken. This emotional sensibility enables them to react to others more effectively, that is, they avoid making statements that would make the other person or persons mad or upset.

10. Effective Stress Management

Stress is well dealt with by those who have high emotional intelligence. Coping is another feature where the person with high EQ can defer negative emotions rather than becoming pressured in order to preserve able to turn to breathing exercising, reflecting, or rephrasing. Their stress coping skills enable them to work efficiently and be able to reason out well without stressing itself more due to pressure.

11. Strong Decision-Making Skills

EI individuals are aware of their own feeling, have regulation power on feeling, and can also understand the feeling of others – so it is a natural conclusion that they make better decisions. They can balance bullets with feelings and thinking, self and other. As for the second point, people who can fix the expression of emotions with reason are capable of making more reasonable decisions. In DD course they noticed that in work related issues as well as personal issues, people with high EIS select options that are moral, efficient, and respect the interests of all parties.
